Election of Officers

The SCIP Board of Directors presents the following officers elected by the Members. Each officer’s term begins July 1, 2022 and extends for two years.

President-Elect: Kathryn Marek, AIA, NCARB, CSI, CCCA, SCIP
Kathryn Marek is pleased to be elected to the SCIP board this year in the role of President-Elect. While this is her first position with SCIP, she has previously served as President-Elect and President of CSINext, the virtual chapter, and Secretary, President-Elect, and President of LACSI.  She is excited about getting more involved with SCIP and helping to strengthen the set of resources that SCIP offers – the most important of which is the connections among the members, to share their wealth of experience and knowledge.

Vice President: Amy Baker, AIA, LEED AP, CSI, CDT, SCIP
Amy’s professional mission is to support the architectural community in making technical tasks, like spec writing and code research, more accessible and easily understood, through education, mentoring, and information sharing. She serves on the Programs Committee on the BEC Board of Directors, where she identifies and coordinates nationally recognized speakers and presentation topics for monthly programs and annual events. She has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Building Enclosure Council of Greater Detroit, the Detroit chapter CSI, and the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA). She is also on RIB SpecLink’s Product Innovation Advisory Board, where she contributes new ideas for improving the tools and functionality of the program.

Secretary: Elias Saltz, FCSI, CCS, CDT, SCIP
Elias was appointed SCIP Secretary in 2021 and has now been elected to a full term in the position.  He is a CSI Fellow and long-time leader and volunteer for CSI national, North Central Region, and Chicago Chapter.  He hopes to use his position on the SCIP Board to make the organization more responsive and inclusive.  When he’s not working, Elias’s activities include refereeing high school football, cycling, and reading.
